DiscussApp is designed with privacy and data minimization in mind. We aim to collect and retain only the information necessary to operate, secure, and improve the service.
We do not sell private communications or use message content for advertising.
Private Message Content
DiscussApp uses End-to-End Encryption for supported private communications. Encrypted content is designed to remain inaccessible to our servers in plaintext. This means our infrastructure is designed to transport and process protected data without requiring access to the actual content of your private conversations.
Minimal Metadata
Operating an online communication service requires some technical information to establish connections, deliver messages, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability. Depending on how you use the service, this may include limited technical metadata. We aim to minimize the collection and retention of this information and do not use it to build advertising profiles.
No Advertising-Based Tracking
DiscussApp is not designed around advertising. We do not sell your private communications or use the content of your conversations to create advertising profiles.
Secure Service Infrastructure
Our infrastructure is designed with security and access control in mind. Administrative access is restricted, and sensitive authentication information is protected using appropriate security mechanisms. Access to production systems is limited to authorized personnel and services that require it for legitimate operational purposes.
Data Retention
Operational, security, authentication, and technical information may need to be retained for a limited period to maintain the service, investigate abuse, or comply with applicable legal requirements. Where information is no longer required for a legitimate purpose, we aim to remove or de-identify it.
Account Privacy
DiscussApp is designed to allow users to communicate without unnecessarily exposing personal information. Where supported, accounts can be created using a username without requiring a phone number. However, information you voluntarily provide to other users may still be visible to those users.
